On April 25th I hosted an event on my farm at Edisto to thank the major donors to the local land trust. We wanted to make the event special and decided to hire a chef to handle the appetizers. I asked a number of people for recommendations and was given Chef Nick McNevin’s name. I appreciated the personalized approach he brought to the event, and guests especially loved his menu featuring interesting twists on classic Lowcountry cuisine. I hope to have him back again soon!
Chef McNevin is a highly trained chef. He uses only the freshest ingredients and creates a masterpiece for the eyes and the palate. The flavor of each ingredient is evident. He is very pleasant and easy to work with, and created a fun occasion to share good food with new friends!
We dined at the Drawing Room at the Vendue often with many friends and family members when Nick McNevin was the Sous Chef there. We were never disappointed! In fact, we were always quite impressed. The food was some of the best in Charleston. The presentation was exceptional, including the use of edible flowers and herbs that added a lot of fun and flavor to our plates. We will surely miss Nick at the Vendue but we are glad to know he is now available for private dining events.
